Representatives of SMU visited BNUZ

On March 14, 2013, Prof. Esther Enns, dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Steve Smith, dean of Science, Ms. Maureen Woodhouse, acting director of International Activities of SMU visited BNUZ. Prof. Ailan Fu, vice president of BNUZ, Prof. Wanglu Peng, dean of School of Information Technology, Prof. Mingyuan Zhang, dean of School of Chinese, Prof. Honghai Mi, dean of School of Applied Mathematics, Prof. Wenting Xie, vice dean of School of Foreign Languages, Prof. Yu Niu, vice dean of School of Education, Prof. Wei Huang, vice dean of School of Real Estate, Prof. Kai Zhang from School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Chunyan Gan, director of Office of International Affairs received the guests at International Center.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Ailan Fu, on behalf of BNUZ, extended warm welcome for the guests and looked back the longstanding ten-year friendly cooperation between two universities. Apart from that, she also expects the visit of two deans from SMU would help to facilitate new cooperation fields. Then two sides held group discussion with different focus on arts and science separately. The topics discussed include but not limited to joint cooperation program in arts and science, English education Joint Master Program, applied science and applied psychology Joint Master Program as well as short-term staff exchange program. Both sides express the hope to carry out substantive cooperation soon.

Representatives of SMU also delivered introductory speech for BNUZ students and did the campus tour with great interests. The nice campus environment and equipments such as overseas student apartment left great impressions on them.
