At 7 p.m. on May 11, 2013, the 2013 Zhuhai College Students Hip-hop Invitational Competition was held on a basketball court of Beijing Normal University Zhuhai (BNUZ). Jointly organized by BNUZ’s School of Logistics, School of Management, and School of Engineering Technology, it is the first college students’ hip-hop competition in the history of Zhuhai. Three Zhuhai's top hip-hop dancers were invited as judges of the competition. Guests attended this activity include: Sui Zhong, the CEO of Zhuhai Radio and TV Newspaper; Yiao Liu, chief editor of the Zhuhai-Macau life; leaders of 11 associations in BNUZ; and presidents of the Student Union from 15 schools.

The competition is divided into two sessions: fighting dance and dance show. Eight dance teams from BNUZ, Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai (BITZ), Zhuhai Arts College (ZAC), Zhuhai City Polytechnic (ZCP) and Guangdong Institute of Science and Technology Zhuhai (GISTZ) brought us wonderful performance with four types of dance, including Funky Style, hip hop, breaking and jazz, which to a large extent, trigger a warm and festive atmosphere while applause and cheers resounded through the audience

Finally, six dancers from BNUZ respectively won the champion of JAZZ, BREAKING and FUNKYSTYLE Dance, and the TOXIC CREW team from ZAC won the award of Best Performance. The competition has come to a big success, as it is a starting point for hip-hop dance competition among universities in Zhuhai, and for it resoundingly stimulates students’ enthusiasm for hip-hop dance and mutual communication.
