From April 13th to 14th, the 3rd Table Tennis Exchange Match of Zhuhai, Macau and Guangzhou were held in the stadium. This competition was sponsored by BNUZ Table Tennis Committee, hosted by the Association of Amateur, and assisted by the Table Tennis Associations from Sun Yat-sen University Zhuhai Campus and Macau University of Science and Technology. It is reported that 10 teams from universities including Macau University of Science and Technology, Jinan University and Sun Yat-sen University participated in this match.

The principal of this competition is developing the national game of table tennis, enriching campus life, and improving students’ health. The match faced university students in Zhuhai, Macau and Guangzhou, and the held events are men and women’s singles and groups. During two-day games, students positively engaged in the fierce competition.

In men and women’s group matches in the afternoon of 13th, South China University of Technology won the groups championships, BNUZ and Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai won the first and second prizes of men’s singles separately. Jinan University and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University won the first and second prizes of women’s singles separately. Students from South China University of Technology showed their happiness in wining the most prizes. They believed unity is the strength to overcome difficulties.

When game processed to the finials of men and women’s singles in the afternoon of 14th, high-level players from each university compete fiercely. At last, BNUZ student Yukun Zhou won the first prize of men’s singles. He received interview after match saying that, “It is great to win the champion. After got the 4th prize in last year, I have spent more time in training, and finally success today.” In the female group, Yuxuan Lu from Jinan University won the championship of women’s singles. She expressed that prize was not the only thing she received. Beyond that, she also made friends and learnt a lot of experience in the competition.

Finally, Pro. Shunlai Zhao, the Associate Dean of School of Sports and Leisure and teacher Yanan Liu gave awards to students and teams. The Table Tennis Exchange Match of Zhuhai, Macau and Guangzhou of this year are held in a larger scale with more participated teams. In successfully holding this match, students’ consciousness of doing sports has been improved and higher levels of enthusiasm have been stimulated. Additionally, this is also a great chance for communication and exchange between universities, which is meaningful for the development of sport activities among college students.
