In the afternoon of May 10, 2013, School of Information Technology(SIT) welcomed its grand open of the 10th IT Festival at C304, Leyu Building. IT Festival is not only a brand activity at BNZU but also has reputation at Zhuhai IT field. Those who participated in the opening ceremony include Mr. WANG Lei, chairman of Zhuhai Puenry Electricity Science &Technology Co., Ltd, Mr.WANG Guozhan, chairman of Zhuhai Zhihedianqi Co., Ltd, Mr.LI Chunbo, BNUZ Secretary of CYL Committee, Prof. NI Yuhua, vice dean of SIT and other representatives of department director and faculty as well as student organization and student clubs.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, all participants appreciate videos of the 9th IT Festival. Prof. WANG Lixue, director of electronics & electricity department of SIT delivered opening speech on behalf of SIT. Prof. WANG pointed out that SIT always sticks to featured education and brand building and focus on practical teaching. Moreover, SIT also attaches great importance to cooperation with enterprise. In the past IT Festivals, many talented students stood out. As recorded, in year 2011-2012, there are 95 SIT students got prizes in national, provincial and municipal level academic competitions. In year 2012-2013, up to now there are 74 SIT students got various level prizes.

During the ceremony, related faculty expressed their best wishes for the IT Festivals and spoke highly about SIT’s teaching philosophy.

The unveiling ceremony of electricity intelligent control R&D center was also held at the event. The center is jointly-built by SIT and Guangdong Southern China Household Appliance Research Institute, Zhuhai Puenry Electricity Science & Technology Co., Ltd, Zhuhai Zhihedianqi Co., Ltd. After the opening ceremony of IT Festival, various competitions and activities of it lift their curtains.
