The Opening Ceremony of 7th Cultural and Arts Festival for University Students in Zhuhai successfully held at BNUZ

On September 27th, the opening ceremony of 7th Cultural and Arts Festival for University Students in Zhuhai was successfully held at Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai (BNUZ). Jointly sponsored by Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Zhuhai Municipal Union of Students and the Committee of Communist Youth League of BNUZ, the Festival has involved more than 4000 teachers and students from different universities in Zhuhai. Honored guests attended the opening ceremony include: Liu Xuetou, Deputy Mayor of Zhuhai Municipal Government; Chi Zhixiong, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth League Committee; Wu Yiting, Director of Senior School Department of Provincial Youth League Committee; Chen Jinliang, Under-Secretary -General of Municipal Party Committee; Liang Zhaoxiong, Deputy Secretary General of Municipal Goverment; Wang Xiaobin, Secretary General of Provincial Youth League Committee; Xiong Yong, CEO of CMCC GD and Prof. Tang Wei, BNUZ CPC Party Chief, together with Prof. Dai Wei, BNUZ Deputy Party Secretary.

First, Prof. Tang Wei made a speech to express his sincere hope for students to make full use of the activity so as to achieve their self-presentation, self-awareness and self-development.

Meanwhile, Mr. Liang Zhaoxiong, Deputy Secretary General of Municipal Government also extend his wishes to students, encouraging them to witness and to be involved in the rapid development of Zhuhai.

As all the honored guests rang the Muduo (the gilded bell) together, the Festival was unveiled. It is the seventh celebration of the festival since 2003. The theme of the festival is “Youth and Me”. It consists of three sessions—Chinese Dream, Zhuhai Dream and Youth Dream, transitioned with sand paintings presented by Wu Yunxuan, a student from UIC. There are all together 15 shows performed, including singing, dancing, kongfu, catwalk, demonstration and so on. The show is filled with festive joy while applause and cheers resounded through the audience.

Accordingly, there will be 13 competitions following the opening ceremony, covering fields like dancing, singing, debate, micro film, hip-pop, poster design on public welfare, poetry recitation, painting and calligraphy, drama and so on.
