From March 18th to 21st, Chief Librarian of Saint Mary’s University, Marie Elizabeth DeYoung, accompanied by Associate Librarian Peter Webster, visited BNUZ library for four days.

The two libraries between BNUZ and SMU carried out detailed communication on readers’ service, cataloging, reference service, information literacy training and environment construction. BNUZ teaching staff and students also participated in the meeting, and gave some suggestions about their information needs and utilization of library resources. In order to expand foreign resources for the joint program, librarians from UIC attended the meeting to discuss the exploration of their library resources. In addition, SMU librarians did a report to BNUZ faculties, introducing their management, faculty team, resource development, and reader service comprehensively.

During the meeting, two libraries also discussed cooperation in resource sharing and reader service. Further agreement of cooperation details was made, and will be promoted in carrying out the joint program in the next semester.
