The Freshman Cup debating competition of the School of Real Estate was held in Lize Building.

After the first screen and quarter final, the team of Urban Planning and the team of City Planning & Land Resource Management made it to the semifinal contest. The two teams spiritedly debated on the topic “which matters more, degree or competent”. While the team of Real Estate Management and the team of Resource and Environment & Real Estate Management reached to the final contest. Their topic was “a bed in the city or a house in the country”. The quick thinking and excellent eloquence of members of both teams have impressed audience and the judges.

After the fierce debating, Wei Daqi, major in of Real Estate Development and Management, Xu Chenglei, major in Land Resource Management won the price for Best Debater, while the team of Real Estate Management won the champion, the team of Resource and Environment & Real Estate Management won the second price and the team of Urban and Rural Planning & Land Resource Management won the third price.

This debating competition began in September, and several hot issues have been involved in the competition. It has not only improved students’ abilities of expressing and critical thinking, but also provided students with a platform to show their talents.
