President of Providence University Met with Co-Developing Student Representatives from BNUZ

Professor Chuanyi Tang, president of Providence University, has held a meeting with student representatives and teachers from School of Government and Law, BNUZ. Associate Professor Changrong Lin, Director of Office of International Affairs, and Ms. Fumei Lv, Head Officer of China’s Affairs attended the meeting.

On behalf of Providence University, Professor Chuanyi Tang extended his warm welcome to BNUZ students and teachers. He highly appreciated the cooperation mode of Co-developing between the two universities. He mentioned that the first class of this mode represents a breakthrough in educational cooperation between Taiwan and mainland China, and he hoped that through this mode, the talents from both sides that majored in social service could be well developed.

Professor Chuanyi Tang also gave a brief introduction to Providence University and its educational characters, particularly features of social service and welfare of child and their development. He said that social work concerns people and plays a crucial role in the development of social service, and it bears a bright future both in mainland China and Taiwan. He hoped that students could fully make use of this exchange study, interact with local students, and know more about Taiwan. He meanwhile talked with students about the curriculum, accommodation, food, tourism and security.

Mr. Zhiwei Yang, the teacher from School of Government and Law, BNUZ, later briefly introduced students’ situation and expressed her sincere thanks to the related departments and offices for their help and support.

There are 32 students that have taken part in this program this time, they are majored in different majors, naming Social Work, Law and Administrative Management. Their study in Taiwan lasts for one year or one semester. From the next cohort, students from all majors at BNUZ are available for applying for this program.
