BNUZ Student Won Good Result in FLTRP-AMAZON Cup National English Debate Competition

During the 7th to 10th of June 2012, student Hanting Xue from School of Foreign languages and Meng Wang from the School of Government and Law represented BUNZ to participate in the 16th FLTRP-AMAZON Cup National English Debate Competition. They were awarded with second prize and The Best New Participated University.


The Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP), after which the Cup was partially named, was founded by Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1979. The 16th FLTRP-Amazon Cup was co-organized by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League and the All China Student Union under the generous sponsorship of Amazon. 46 teams from universities in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Guizhou and Hainan provinces participated in the contest. For South China Universities, it is a national competition with the most contestants, highest level and most extensive influence.


Tutor Wenxia Wu from and School of Foreign Languages, and Ding Hao: the leader of Debate club also participated in the competition as judges. Students who joined the competition gained the experience and hope to do better next year.
