On late June of 2012, 58 BNUZ students arrived at Canada accompanied by BNUZ faculty by two batches and participated in summer programs organized by BNUZ’s partner universities. After four weeks, students came back to China with great learning experiences and unforgettable memories.

30 of BNUZ students participated in summer program of Saint Mary’s University and the rest attended summer program in Acadia University. The summer programs mainly include two parts: English and culture courses, field trip to tourist destinations and spots nearby. The courses are carefully designed to suit students’ interest and help them improve English especially in communication skills and culture consciousness.

When the Zhenghe Vessel of Chinese Navy arrived at Halifax Port on 25th, June, some BNUZ students took part in the magnificent welcome ceremony. Students also got invited to meet with the mayor of Halifax and held pleased talks with Sir Mayor.

In the four weeks, students attending program of Saint Mary’s University lived with local family and established great relationship with home-stay family, which offers great opportunity for them to know better about Canada culture. Students attending Acadia University’s program lived inside the campus and got great experience of Canadian university life. Through such activities, students not only improve their English but get new friends and widen their horizon.
