On afternoon of 12th August, the graduation ceremony of NSLI program was held in International Center. Prof. Mingyuan Zhang, Dean of School of Chinese, Ms. Sihong Huang, Coordinator of IEARN, Dr. Qiu, assistant to dean of School of Chinese, representatives of Chinese teachers, 20 American students, representatives of language partners and host families attended the graduation ceremony.

Prof. Zhang gave a speech in Chinese. He said in the opening ceremony that he would use Chinese that American students can understand to address the graduation. Prof. Zhang talked with students in Chinese casually. And all the students have taken part in HSK test and passed it successfully.

Changming, a representative of American student, gave a speech about his Chinese name. He said that he knew little about China before he came to China this time, all he knew was that China is a country with long history, there are Great Wall and Forbidden City in China. But after these seven weeks, he earned great knowledge about Chinese culture, tradition and language.

Representatives of teachers and host families shared their experience in this program. School of Chinese has provided practice opportunities for over 70 students in International Chinese Studies and other Chinese language programs in this summer vacation.

After that, Prof. Zhang and Ms. Huang converted certification to the 20 American students, and took photos with them.

A happy ending was put to this graduation ceremony, this NSLI program has successfully finished. Seven-week is not a long period, but all the students have studied hard; and they said that they would share this wonderful experience with their friends in USA and wish to come to BNUZ again next year.
