On November 25, 2012, Chuangwen Cup Zhuhai College Debate Invitational Tournament concluded at Zhuhai radio and television studio hall. This tournament was organized by Zhuhai Committee of Communist Youth League, Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education etc, co-organized by BNUZ Committee of Communist Youth League. With the long-term effort and excellent performance, BNUZ debate team won the championship of this tournament. Yang XIAO, the BNUZ debate team leader won the title of best debater.

Guangyan LONG, vice mayor of Zhuhai, Demin GAO, deputy secretary of municipal party committee, Xiaobin WANG, secretary-general of municipal Communist Youth League, Rui JI, Lei SHI, vice secretary of municipal Communist Youth League, Qi FANG, vice head of municipal department of propaganda, Xiangming WU, vice head of Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Education, and around 500 representatives of youngsters appreciated the tournament. Deming GAO, Rui JI and poet Ci SONG, Weiwei Ma, the best debater in the 2003 International Varsity Debate Competition, Jingjing Liu, the best debater of the 2007 International Debate Contest formed a great judge team.

Two teams entering the final are Sun Yet-sun University (Zhuhai Campus) and Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. The topic for the final is “Regarding creating a national civilized city, which one is more important, the government- orchestrated or public participation”. Two teams presented a great debate show for the audience by witty remarks and applying the latest official report and statement. After the debate, representatives of judge team delivered helpful comment.

In recent years, BNUZ debate team has got great progress. It is active in organizing various debate contests and achieved satisfying results. Apart from that, it also invites Mr. Jianbiao HU, a great debater from Malaysia to be the coach and communicate often with out-of-campus organizations so as to expand its influence.
