From March 25 to March 29, 2013, HK Civil Servant Mandarin and National Affairs Study Program was successfully held at BNUZ. 11 liaison directors(first level and secondary level) from different districts of Hong Kong Home Affairs Department participated in the five-day study program. They not only improve their Mandarin but also acquire knowledge regarding China’s political structure, government organizational structure and civil servant systems and so forth. BNUZ’s School of Chinese also selected excellent students majoring in Chinese International Education to be Hong Kong participants’ one to one language partner.

In the morning of March 29, 2013, graduation ceremony of this study program was held at C101, Leyu Building. Prof. ZHANG Mingyuan, dean of School of Chinese, Mr. Ruan Minghua and Ms. LIU Huizhen, teachers for Mandarin course and 11 program learners presented in the ceremony.

In the graduation ceremony, 11 liaison directors shared their learning experiences and displayed what they learned by singing, Mandarin works recitation etc. Ms. LU Jiping, representative of the 11 liaison directors, shared her feelings about this study program and extended thanks for School of Chinese and the teachers as well as language partners.

In the last day of this study program, 11 Hong Kong liaison directors also visited Zhuhai Civil Affairs Bureau and Zhuhai Standing Committee and shared experiences with related members. Mr. ZHOU Song, deputy head of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Bureau of Zhuhai, Prof. ZHU Meilin, head of Administration Division at BNUZ, participated in the whole visit.
