In celebrating the 10th anniversary of BNUZ student soccer team, more than 20 alumni players gathered from different parts of China to the alma mater to commemorate the anniversary of the team and their past campus life.
At 10 a.m. on June 1st, teacher Lu Shuying, Director of the Office of Public Relations and Press and the Deputy Secretary of BNUZ Alumni Association, together with other staff welcomed them in the International Exchange Center. Then the alumni players planted two memorial trees besides the pitch.
In the afternoon, members of the BNUZ first soccer team visited the campus by shuttle bus. All of them were wearing the customized uniform with words of Brotherhood Lasts a Lifetime. During the visiting, they talked about their special memories in the university and took pictures from time to time of the beautiful campus.
The team leader Su Junhua expressed that it is great to organize this event, and with all the players coming back from several places across China, the deep feelings to their alma mater and other members were really moving and impressive. Additionally, he felt very proud of being BNUZ alumni, especially in seeing the new changes and beauty of the campus.
At 3:30 in the afternoon, alumni players and the united team of teacher and student gathered in the soccer pitch and had a friendlies. Although the weather was hot in the beginning of June, the match was especially fierce. The past few years of separation did not affected their passion for it, and their full understanding had still kept among each other.
It is reported that the BNUZ first soccer team was developed by students who were keen on it from several different schools. No matter enrolled in 2002 or 2006, deep friendships among them had been developed during training and attending games together. Even though they went to different places of the country after graduation, all of them could not forget the beautiful times they had spent together. One alumnus even flied from US specialized for this event, which made the meeting more impressive and warm feeling. This was also the first time BNUZ Alumni Association organized student club coming back to the university. Gifts of BNUZ postcards were given to them from the Alumni Association, and the International Exchange Center also offered the best price in welcoming them back.
