In September 2013, Chen Wenzhang, Sun Yangjian and Zhou Mingde, students from the Sino-Germany cooperative program of BNUZ, won the Annual Young Creative Talents Award of 2013 Shanghai Design Week.

Via online call-out & voting and guest judging, the committee of 2013 Shanghai Design Week nominated eight young talents across the country. The works of BNUZ students Chen Wenzhang, Sun Yangjian and Zhou Mingde attracted wide attention, and were shortlisted into the final by a high margin. Wang Rihua, Standing President of Shanghai Industrial Design Association, Su Qiuping, Chinese consultant to New York Festivals, Lv Hong, CEO of Dahong Design, and Wang Li, Deputy Director of Shanghai Huangpu Office of Cultural and Creative Industries awarded the contestants, and 17 other educators and advertisers from domestic and overseas design industry attended the event as well.

Invited by the organizer, Chen Wenzhang, Sun Yangjian and Zhou Mingde delivered a speech entitled “New Voice-ism” in Shanghai Expo Center. They each explained the meaning and essence of their work, and their creative ideas and wonderful speech received positive responses from the audiences and guests.
