The first Intercultural Teaching and Learning Workshop was held by sino-foreign programmes, Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and Faculty Development Center in Yuanbai Building which attracted about 70 teachers.
At the opening ceremony, Prof. Geng Xiangdong emphasised Intercultural Teaching and Learning Workshop is of great significance, which is not only for the joint-built international collaborative education platform but also for our school's mission of international development. With the increasing participation of students in international programmes, teachers should improve themselves to promote the teaching quality.
The workshop is divided into three parts: “Cross-cultural Young Professionals with a Strong Personality 3.0” delivered by Prof. Simone Roth from BA; “Intercultural Academic Support Discussion” addressed by Miguel Morales from SMU; and “How to help students improve their English and adapt to foreign teaching” co-hosted by Prof. Charles Beaupre & Mr. Jonathan Regan. During the workshop, the teachers from different countries and different teaching experiences involved in active discussion, solving out the specific problems in intercultural teaching and student cultivations.
Intercultural Teaching and Learning Workshop is proposed by BNUZ, BA and SMU at the 15th anniversary of our school, aiming at promoting the research and practice of the cross-cultural teaching and learning.
