On May 30, the International Exchange and Cooperation Department organized our foreign teachers and students and their families to visit Qi'ao Island,which hold the "Culture And the natural heritage day "and also the high-tech zone eighth non-cultural festival.Join in these activities could let the teachers and students to gain more understanding about the customs of Chinese traditional festivals.
Before the start of the cultural parade,the foreign teachers and students visited the Whitehead Street with great interest, Tin Hau Temple, anti-British square and the former residence of the Soviet Union, and some other attractions with the International Department of teachers,in order to understand about the history of Qi'ao Island.
Cultural Festival started with the bursts of gongs and drums and sound of firecrackers, and the parade team dragon and lion dance to pray for auspicious, our school teachers and students follow the parade team while taking pictures, and they highly praised the lion dance performances.Subsequently, foreign teachers and students also watched the non-material heritage display and performance selected by the relevant departments: high-tech zone "Tang Jiawan tea", "drug line Sunburn", "wheat cake art" from Xiangzhou District, "big break "Sang Zen meditation", "Sun's step on the barbed tendon technique", "one finger Zen massage" from Doumen District, "loaded mud fish", "July 30 Road, fragrance", "bucket door gongs and drums", "three stoves weaving" and "Dingjiawan tea fruit"from Jinwan District, and all the foreign teachers and students enjoyed this trip.
International Exchange and Cooperation Department also carefully prepared some Guang-style dumplings for the foreign teachers and students , and also introduce to the teachers and students of the origin,meaning and customs of the Dragon Boat Festival,which made the foreign teachers and students feel the atmosphere of traditional Chinese festival.
