The University of Leicester Visited BNUZ

On May 16th and 17th, Prof. Sarah Dixon, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, International of Leicester, Prof. Emanuel Haven, Head of Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Management, and Kishor Lodhia, Senior Lecturer of School of Management, visited BNUZ. The President of BNUZ, Prof. Qingyun Tu and related directors of International Business Faculty, School of Government and Law and Office of International Exchange & Cooperation welcomed the guests and had a discussion meeting.

Prof. Qingyun Tu expressed a warm welcome to the delegation from the University of Leicester, then introduced the basic condition and the development of international programs of BNUZ. Later, a discussion between both universities focused on the 2+2 duel-degree program on Finance and Accounting and the 3+1+1 program with International Business Faculty, the 4+1 program and the 3+1+1 program with School of Government and Law, and university-level short-term exchange programs, academic and research exchange programs for teachers and staff. Finally, both sides reached an agreement on the cooperation programs and signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

During the visit, the guests also held a discussion meeting with faculties of International Business Faculty, conducted a presentation to students and had a campus tour. They spoke highly of the beautiful environment, cultural atmosphere and the facilities of BNUZ.

The University of Leicester was founded in 1921 and was located in Leicester, England. Leicester is one of the oldest universities in Britain with a history of over 100 years. Currently, it sets seven schools including School of Arts, School of Law, School of Management, School of Medicine and Biological Sciences, Leicester-Warwick Medical School, School of Science and School of Social Science. Leicester has about 23000 students now,16 % of whom are international students. It ranks 16th among British universities by TIMES in 2014 and 44th in the top 100 of the world’s most international universities by Times Higher Education (THE) in 2015.
