The Celebratory ceremony for the 10th anniversary of BNUZ, hosted by prof. Wei Tang, Secretary of the Party Committee of BNUZ, was held on 16th December, 2011. Students and teachers, friends at home and abroad came here to celebrate this special occasion. Prof. Chuansheng Liu, Party Secretary of BNU, Prof. Binlin Zhong, president of BNU, Mr. Lin Gan, Party Secretary of Zhuhai Municipal Government, Mr. Ningka He, Party Deputy Secretary and acting Mayor of the Zhuhai Municipal Government attended the ceremony.
On behalf of BNU, Prof. Chuansheng Liu extended sincere congratulations to BNUZ teachers, students and alumni all over the world, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Zhuhai Municipal Committee and municipal government for their great support and assistance. She indicated that BNUZ has been developing quickly in the past 10 years. She accentuated that BNUZ is a crucial component of BNU’s development, and BNU will always support BNUZ’s reformation and development. This ceremony is also a milestone for the next promising 10 years. She hoped that everyone of BNUZ will jointly spare no efforts to make BNUZ a better university.
Mr. Lin Gan, on behalf of the Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the CPC and the municipal government, expressed his cordial regards for BNU and BNUZ’s contribution to the economic development of Zhuhai. He said that during these 10 years, BNUZ pays great importance to international exchange and cooperation and integration of production, teaching and research. And BNUZ has become an epitome of reformation of China’s higher education. Together with other universities in Zhuhai, BNUZ now is a place that offers qualified talents, innovative high-technology and advanced culture. Mr. Gan also emphasized that higher education is the core strategic resource of Zhuhai. While speeds its construction pace, Zhuhai will stick to the strategy that education enjoys priority in development. Meanwhile, Zhuhai encourages universities to develop with features, improves quality of higher education in Zhuhai. He hoped that teachers and students of BNUZ to advance with Zhuhai and the new era.
Prof. Guangju Chen said that the development of higher education strengthens competitiveness of Zhuhai. He also called upon BNUZ-ers to stick to reformation and innovation, make great efforts to build BNUZ into an open university with high standard.
Besides the above guests, Mr. Zhaolin Wang, ex-vice president of the Guangdong CPPCC, Prof. Wenbo Chen, ex- Secretary of the Party Committee of BNU, Prof. Shaoxiang Han, vice chairman of Chinese Education Society and the national educational inspector, Houshen Zhang, ex-counsellor of the State Council, vice president of International Alliance of Psychology, Botao Lv, ex-chief justice of Guangdong Provincial Higher People's Court, Xiaoguang Zhang, vice minister of Culture Ministry of Education, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau S.A.R., Hanzhang Li, vice director of Zhuhai Municipal standing committee, Qingli Wang, deputy mayor of Zhuhai, Jie Chen, vice chairman of Zhuhai CPPCC, alumni of BNUZ, friends from other universities both at home and borad, leaders of scientific research institutes and representatives of BNUZ teacher and student also attended the ceremony.
