SMU (Canada)Delegation Visited BNUZ

Captained by Dr. Patricia Bradshaw, Dean of Sobey School of Business, and Prof. Kevin Vessey, Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, a delegation of Saint Mary’s University visited BNUZ during Nov 26th – 27th for continued discussion about co-educational programs between both universities. Prof. Ailan Fu, Vice President of BNUZ, together with Dr. Wei Dai, Vice Party Secretary and PhD of Economics, Prof. Wenhao Tao, Dean of School of Foreign Languages, Prof. Yuping Lan, Assistant to Dean of International Business Faculty, Mr. Yang Jin, Director of University Office, and Dr. Chunyan Gan, Director of International Office greeted the guests and held a seminar about issues of running co-educational programs.

Based on the past discussions, both parties continued identifying course mapping, policies and regulations in China and Canada, university responsibilities and obligations, and other relevant issues, which had provided a solid foundation for further preparation of program application.

On the morning of Nov. 27, SMU delegation had a delicate tour around teaching and living facilities at BNUZ, including Liyun Building, Leyu Building, Apt. for Foreign Teachers, Youth Teacher Apt. Kyodo Club, etc. and chatted with Prof. Yong Zhong, Dean of School of Sports and Leisure, and the students. Later, Sobey Group visited UIC, Prof. Zee Sze-Yong, Vice President (Academic), Ms. Lilian Li, Assistant to President, and Dr. Katalin Illes, Director of International Development Office received the group and presented a brief introduction to the visitors. Both parties exchanged ideas about co-educational programs.

During the stay of SMU delegation in Zhuhai, they also visited Shizimen Central Business District, and listened to the report about future plan and development of the CBD.
