SET Attended the 2nd International STEM on Education Conference

From Nov. 24 to Nov. 27, 2012, the 2nd International STEM in Education Conference was held at Yingdong Conference Hall of Beijing Normal University. Captained by the dean Prof. Baosheng AN, School of Engineering Technology (SET) delegation of BNUZ attended this conference.

International STEM in Education Conference is a great event in the educational field of science, technology, engineering, mathematics. This conference was launched by Beijing Normal University (BNU), Australia’s Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Canada's University of British Columbia (UBC), hosted by School of Educational Technology, Beijing Normal University. The theme for this year is Instructional Innovations and Interdisciplinary Research in STEM Education, aims to creates opportunities for educators and researchers from schools, universities, businesses, industries and other private and public agencies to share and discuss their innovative practices and research initiatives that may advance STEM education. This year it attracts over 200 professionals from more than 20 countries in five continents, including China, Canada, Australia and German.

As an invited guest, Prof. Baosheng AN of BNUZ delivered a report named Investigations of STEM ‘5L’ Teaching Method, introducing SET’s research and practice in STEM educational field and came up with the creative 5L teaching methods. Moreover, Prof. AN also displayed several technological products such as machine insects, voice model. Prof. AN’s vivid speech and SET’s teaching principle has got a very high recommendation from the presented guests. After the report, Queensland University of Technology and other domestic and foreign universities as well as business representatives have expressed the intension to cooperate with BNUZ regarding research and high-level personnel training.
