In the afternoon of Nov. 12th, 2013, Ms. Wang Ying, Chief Representative of University of Portsmouth’s Chinese office, Mr. Cai Runquan, Head of Chinese Association of Portsmouth City, visited BNUZ in the company of Ms. Ou Chan from Zhuhai Municipal Bureau of Foreign Affairs. Associate Prof. Wang Linming, Deputy Dean of School of Design, Mr. Deng Yuehua, Office Director of School of Design, and Dr. Gan Chunyan, Director of Office of International Affairs received the delegation in BNUZ International Center.

During the meeting, two sides first briefed each other the profile of each university as well as its respective international cooperation and exchanges and then reviewed the friendly cooperation between two universities before the year of 2009, up until when we have 10 students from School of Design pursue study at University of Portsmouth. Based on the friendly cooperation in the past, both sides reached agreement on restarting the cooperation and applying more cooperation models for the future cooperation. For instance, to cooperate in mutually-benefiting programs such as the short-term and long-term student exchanges and faculty exchanges.

Zhuhai municipal government and Protsmouth city council will soon sign an agreement to officially become sister cities in the near future, which will greatly facilitate the further cooperation of higher institutions in the two cities.
