On June 15th, BNUZ’s first group of overseas students of Chinese major attended the commencement of School of Chinese and the following Thanks Banquet.

In the Thanks Banquet with a topic of “College is no more a dream”, Prof. Fu Ailan, Vice President of BNUZ, encouraged all the graduating overseas students that graduation is not an end but a beginning. As long as with sincere hope and full confidence, the future will be a promising one.

Masu, representative of overseas students, said emotionally, “thank BNUZ, thank University of Hong Kong, and thank all the faculties. Without your help, it is impossible for me to stand here and give a speech; without your help, it is impossible for us to receive education equally; without your help, it is impossible for all of us to realize our college dream! Your help will never be forgotten. After graduation, we will work hard and live optimistically. We’ll return our alma mater in real actions.

The first group of graduating overseas students includes students from Pakistan, Nepal, Japan, South Korea, North Korea and Portugal, etc. Their plan after graduation varies: some will further their study in HK or mainland China; some will work for international companies located in Pearl River Delta; some will even start their own businesses. In concluding, their confidence and dream about future are far different from that four years ago.
