On October 25, 2014, 25 new students of the BNUZ-SMU Program had a city tour around Zhuhai with accompany of their teachers.
Young's Ancestral Hall is the first scenic spots they visited. An ancestral hall is a Chinese temple dedicated to deified ancestors and progenitors of surname lineages or families in the Chinese traditional religion. The Young’s Ancestral Hall, which is built in 1868, is the best preserved and biggest one in Zhuhai. During the visit to this historic spot, students get to know well about Zhuhai’s history.

Students then went to the Yang Pao'an Memorial Hall. Mr. Yang is one of greatest pioneers of the China democratic revolution in the early 20th century. Yang Pao’an made indelible contribution in the process of Marx’s early spread in China. He actively promotes the historical materialism of Marx, theory of surplus value and the theory of class struggle; and he played an important role in the first KMT-CPC cooperation. After visiting the museum and listening to the illustration, students not only learnt more about modern China revolution, but also inspire their love to our country.

After that, the new students went to explore the local communities in the area of Zhuhai North Mountain. Zhuhai North Mountain Center and Zhuhai North Mountain Courtyards are the two main spots the students visited. And the students are deeply impressed by all of these renowned treasures of Zhuhai’s culture and history.
As the students stated, the city tour is a wonderful path for them to learn Zhuhai, and to love Zhuhai. Hope it will become an excellent beginning for the students’ new adventure in their future four-year study in BNUZ.
