Dr. Francesca from BAU Lectured at BNUZ about Renaissance in Italy

On Oct. 28th, Dr. Francesca de Palo, Director of BAU International Academy of Rome visited BNUZ School of Chinese and gave a lecture titled “Renaissance in Italy” to students of Talents Cultivation Plan of Chinese Culture Heritage and Transmission under Era of Globalization” in BNUZ School of Chinese.

Dr. Francesca began his lecture with the origin of the Renaissance Movement. She emphasized the core of Renaissance in Italy is humanism and the Renaissance is not broke out of a sudden. Then she briefed the development of the Renaissance Movement and explained the major features of the art back then during that period.

In the Q&A section, students asked questions about how Italians’ attitude towards tradition, and whether the Renaissance will happen again. Dr. Francesca thought that Italians put great importance to traditional art and culture and hope to use traditional art in the production and integrate with modern art to generate a new culture catering to the 21st century. she believed that the Renaissance will happen again.

Through this lecture, students learned about the Renaissance government and gained a deeper understanding about the humanism and religion genre and the features of the movement.
