Overall Operation
Prof. Tu currently holds the position of President of BNUZ. Prof. Tu is also a professor and doctoral supervisor in both BNU and BNUZ. He was born Xiangyang, Hubei Province in June 1963. From 1981 to 1988, he studied in the Department of Physics of BNU where he obtained both of his bachelor and master degrees. After graduation, he began his teaching career in BNU. In 2002, Prof. Tu obtained his doctorate degree in Science, jointly trained by BNU and Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Tu is currently the President and Deputy Secretary of University Party Committee of BNUZ, as well as the Assistant to the President of BNU. He used to be the assistant to Director of Department of Physics, Deputy Director of Office of Science & Technology, Deputy Director of Department of Physics, Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office & Director of Admission Office, Director of Teaching Affairs Office & Director of Admission Office, as well as Director of Teaching Affairs Office consecutively.
With his expertise in the field of experimental condensed matter physics, he has more than 60 research papers published in academic journals, among which over 30 were recorded by SCI, along with nearly 30 Chinese academic papers and 5 Chinese education research papers. He has also been in charge of or involved in more than 10 research projects. His main concurrent academic posts include Executive Director of the Science Education Committee of Chinese Association of Higher Education (CAHE), Editorial Board Member for the journal Higher Education of Sciences, expert reviewer of the journal China University Teaching, and a member of Professional Advisory Board for Educational System Reform in Gansu Province, and expert on the university undergraduate teaching assessment, etc. He won the first prize for Beijing Higher Education Achievement in 2012; and the honor for Excellent Education Administrator of General Institutes of Higher Education in Beijing in 2008.
