BNUZ Student Performed Well in GRBC Zhuhai International Half Marathon 2011

GRBC Zhuhai International Half Marathon 2011 had concluded on Dec. 18, 2011. 532 BNUZ students and staff participated in the event, with 504 attending the mini-marathon (4.2 kilometers) and 28 attending the 10-kilometer one. In this event, BNUZ won the 3rd prize in College & University Team of Men's 10 KM and got the title of Excellent Organizer for the Marathon. Lin Long, the first BNUZ student to cross the finishing line, ranked the Top 30 with the grade of 39 minutes and 55 seconds in the fierce competition of College & University Team of Men's 10 KM. In Women's 10 KM, Guichan Liang from BNUZ ranked Top 16.


This is the 2nd International Half Marathon held by Zhuhai. It attracts players from 16 nations with the total registered number of 9, 789, which is 3.5 times compared with that of last year. Moreover, excellent players such as people won the 3rd prize in 2004 Athens Olympic Games and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games also participated in this event, which makes the great results got by BNUZ players much more commendable.

Encouraged by the spirit of Marathon, BNUZ players overcame difficulties and finished all journey, which enables them to harvest joy and sense of achievement. In this event, BNUZ players demonstrated positive and friendly spiritual outlook and received praises.


During the process to register for the event, faculty members in BNUZ Track & Field Committee encouraged long-distance running lovers to participant in it. Lin Song, chairman of BNUZ Track & Field Committee said: the title of Excellent Organizer for the event, which was given by the organizing committee, is the best affirmation for our performance and also a reward for the active preparation of our committee. He hoped that through such an event, people can attract more sport lovers to join them and encourage more students as well as faculty members to enjoy the wonderful feast.
