BNUZ Representatives Attended the 2nd Higher Education Management in Portuguese Speaking Countries & Regions Forum

6th November 2012, Prof. Ailan Fu, vice president of BNUZ, Prof. Mingyuan Zhang, Dean of School of Chinese, Prof. Wenhao Tao, Dean of School of Foreign Languages and De. Pansy Gan, Director of Office of International Affairs, invited by Macao Polytechnic Institute, attended the 2nd Higher Education Management in Portuguese Speaking Countries & Regions Forum.

This forum was held in Macao Polytechnic Institute, over 100 leaders of universities, principals of education organizations, experts and scholars from Portugal, Brazil, Angola and other Portuguese Speaking Countries & Regions attended, discussing the trend and future of higher education. Taking this opportunity, discussion on establishing the platform for cooperation between Portuguese Speaking Countries and Chinese universities was put on.

During this forum, BNUZ delegation held a meeting with Prof. Sergio Pedini, president of Federal and National technology Education Association, regarding the possible cooperation. Prof. Sergio Pedini showed great interests in the Chinese Language and Culture Center by BNUZ and IPB, hope similar cooperation can be launched. Besides, BNUZ delegation held a meeting with João Sobrinho Teixeira president of IPB and Prof. Dina Rodrigues Macias, assistant to IPB president, discussing the faculty and student exchange, and the development of Chinese Language and Culture Center. Both parties agreed that cooperation has a promising future.

From Sept. 2012, BNUZ has set up Portuguese course, and IPB has sent teachers to BNUZ. Up till now, more than 500 students have taken the Portuguese course. This semester, the IPB teacher set up Portuguese major in School of Foreign Languages. Dr. Can Guo, teacher from School of Chinese, were sent to IPB this Sept, giving Chinese course as general course and major course for tourism management. This semester, BNUZ sent three students to study in IPB wile IPB sent three to BNUZ. 15th, Oct. 2012, the Chinese Language and Culture Center was jointly established by IPB and BNUZ, it is the first base BNUZ set up in overseas for teaching, researching and exchanging. It is also the new filed BNUZ reached in international education and Chinese education internationally.
