On June 20^th the day of Dragon Boat Festival, BNUZ international students participated in the local cultural event for Dragon Boat Festival on Qi’ao island under the organization of BNUZ Office of International Exchange and Cooperation. The event consists of many Chinese traditional performances like dragon dance, lion dance, drums and firecrackers which is a traditional Chinese ritual for auspiciousness. Seeing such cultural performances for the first time in their life, International students were amazed about the performances.

At the end of the opening ceremony, international students also visited the local sites of interests like Baishi Road, Tian’hou Shrine, Former Residence of Su Zhaozheng and they also appreciated the calligraphy performances by Tangjiawan Calligraphy Association. International students said that they gained further understanding about Lingnan culture and their understanding about Chinese culture were deepened.
