At 10:00 am in the morning of June 23^rd, the 2015 US National Merit Scholarship for High School Students Chinese Summer Program was held by School of Chinese in Leyu Building. Prof. Mingyuan Zhang, Dean of School of Chinese, Jeneil Bamberg, Program Team Leader and some relevant teaching staff, American students, TAs, Language partners attended the ceremony.

Prof. Zhang first expressed his warm welcome to all American students. He said “this year is the fifth session of American Class and students are more excellent year by year. I hope that you will be the best.” Ms. Can Guo, teachers representative, enunciate the names of all teaching staff in Chinese and she also introduced the major content of training. Then two American students representatives expressed their wish about the up-coming study as well as their determination on learning profound Chinese culture.

In the future several weeks, these American students will be immersed in Chinese language and culture study.
