Student from School of Logistics Invited to Attend the 23rd APEC Summit

On Nov. 17th, the 23rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting was held in the Philippine capital Manila. Yao Le, student of BNUZ School of Logistics, was invited as one of APEC’s Chinese youth delegation members. He attended APEC summit and participated in a series of activities including visiting ADB, attending the forum between ABAC and Asian Pacific youth, participating in drafting the 2015 Asian Pacific youth declaration and discussing with ABAC’s representatives of various circles on the sustainable development issue.

At the summit, he listened to the speech delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Barack Obama. During the spare time, he made active communication with CEOs of big corporations and some officials from different countries including Mr. Tony, ABAC Official Representatives, Mr. Ning Gao, Chairman of COFCO, Mr. Frank Appel, global CEO of DHL, Mr. David Cunningham, Chief Operating Officer of FedEx and Mr. Fernandes, the President of Air Asia etc.

This experience not only broadens his global horizon, but promotes his political accomplishment. Besides, he expressed his determination to develop in a more round way, paying more attention to international economic development. And he will be an active participator in the following-up activity Voice of Future, making his best to add credits to BNUZ.

From May to August, Yao Le took part in the Chinese regional selection for Voice of Future. And he finally was selected as one of APEC’s Chinese youth delegation members after mass-selection, Guangzhou semi-finals and the national finals and so on.

The selection activities in China for APEC Voice of Future subjects directly to China's Foreign Ministry, commissioned to China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and undertaken by VTM Chinese Fund and NOVO Youth Community, and opens to all university students.
