SMU Delegation completed “Intercultural Development in the Chinese context” training at BNUZ

On June 9, the closing ceremony of “Intercultural Development in the Chinese context” training program was successfully held in Muduo Building at BNUZ. The first delegation from Saint Mary’s University lead by Ms. Gabrielle Morrison, Vice President of Saint Mary’s University completed the week-long Intercultural Development training program and Prof. Xiangdong Geng, Chairperson of the BNUZ University Council awarded the completion certificates to the delegation members.

   

   

   

   

From June 6 to June 9, this SMU delegation consisting of eight senior administrators and faculty members attended a serious of lectures, workshops and activities aiming to strengthen the understanding of Chinese culture, language and higher education. The week-long events contained lectures about Tai Chi, acupuncture and moxibustion, Chinese philosophy - I Ching, Chinese Buddhism and Chinese food therapy, as well as several field trips to Putuo Temple, Qi’ao Island and Huitong Village.

   


Through the training, SMU delegates experienced Chinese culture firsthand and hope to bring this experience back to their work in order to help more BNUZ students in self-adjustment.
