On 29th November, the Award Ceremony of 2011 New Media Works Internet Contest, also the Inauguration Ceremony of Civilized Zhuhai—Creative Works Internet Contest was held. Prof. Qingshan Gui, Dean of School of Art and Communication, teacher of School of Design and representatives of the two schools attended the ceremony. Prof. Qingshan Gui was the honor guest to present the awards. Apple Game and Sui Xing Ni Ying, works of BNUZ students won the first and third prize in Game Animations respectively. Meanwhile, BNUZ won the prize for Outstanding Organization.
This contest is jointly held by Zhuhai municipal government, universities, firms, traditional media and new media. It aims to motivate the development of cultural and creative industry, to target at discovering students’ creativity in new media, training students to be independent, persistent, and creative, and to promote potential works. All the works are divided into seven categories, namely Animated Short Film, Caricature, Design, DV Digital Short Film, and Creative Digital Photography, Game Animations and cell-phone magazine.
The prizes that BNUZ has won are more like a motivation than an honor. It helps motivating students to enhance their abilities and art awareness while creating better works, and making contributions in developing New Media Cultural and Creative Industries in China.
