March 23, 2012Click:

On the afternoon of 16th March, the first cross-cultural teaching seminar was held. It was hosted by Dr. Weirong Wang, director of International Education Research Center. Overseas teachers from America, Japan, New Zealand served for BNUZ, local teacher from School of Education, School of Chinese, Development Division and Office of International Affairs attended the seminar.

Issues about challenges and solutions in cross-cultural teaching have been discussed. Overseas teachers shared their experience and recommended some efficient solutions, which reflected their professional ethnics. For the questions raised by overseas teachers, local teachers analyzed features of Chinese students and shared their experience and opinions on how to regulate students’ learning.

It is believed that to promote the internationalization of BNUZ’s teaching and to enhance teaching quality, joint efforts of overseas and local teachers should be made. This seminar has taken the first step in learning and teaching together by overseas and local teachers. And it is hoped that through this seminar, communication, in fields of academy, culture and education, will be strengthened; and teachers’ sense of belonging will be improved. The seminar lasted for over two hours and participants had heated discussions.

This seminar was held by International Education Research Center, supported by Office of Teaching Quality Assurance and Office of International Affairs.
