School of IT Attended the 4th Forum on Environmental Remote Sensing for Pearl River Delta Region

During Feb. 24th to 25th, the 4th Forum on Environmental Remote Sensing for Pearl River Delta Region was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). On behalf of BNUZ, Prof. Wanglu PENG, dean of School of Information Technology (SIT), along with Dr. Boxiong YANG and Dr. Hui HE attended the forum. As a member of the procedural committee for the forum, Prof Wanglu PENG chaired the session of New Methods of Remote Sensing. Dr. Boxiong YANG delivered a report called Three Linear CCD Remote Sensing Images Compression Research Based on Adaptive Overlapped Block and Radiation Compensation.

This forum was organized by Institute of Space and Earth Information Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) ,Hong Kong Society for Remote Sensing, Association of Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau ,University of Macau ,Guangdong Provincial Society for Remote Sensing and GIS and Sun Yat-sen University . Over 60 experts and scholars from institutes and schools of pearl river delta region, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as related administration department and business circles participated in the forum.

This forum intends to facilitate the communication and cooperation of related scientists, scholars and engineers in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau region. Prof. Delu PAN, academician at Chinese Academy of Engineering, was invited to deliver the keynote speech. Participated members exchanged ideas especially on the aspects of supervision on urbanization and the change of land utilization, remote sensing and water quality supervision, new methods of remote sensing and GIS etc.
