Deputy Dean of Business School of Macquarie University Visited BNUZ

On the morning of June 2nd, Philomena Leung, Deputy Dean and Professor of the Business School of Macquarie University in Australia, and Stephen Fan, Director of Chinese Affairs in International Office, visited BNUZ. A meeting with visitors was held by the chief officers of some departments and schools of BNUZ at International Center.

On the meeting, Dr. Gan Chunyan, Director of Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, on behalf of BNUZ, expressed a great welcome to the visit of professor Philomena Leung and Mr Stephen Fan; she also gave a brief introduction of the current cooperation between BNUZ and MU. Professor Philomena Leung then expressed her wishes that this visit could further promote the cooperation between two universities.

Later, the representatives of the School of Design, International Business Faculty and the School of Franchise Management made a brief introduction about recent year’s cooperation and then expressed their willingness to make a further step on cooperation with MU. Professor Philomena Leung went on a deep discussion with professor Zhang Tong’yao from BNUZ International Business Faculty; the topics mainly focused on students’ performance, further development on accounting major and young professors taking doctor degree program in MU. Professor Hou Fei, from the School of Management, and professor Xiong Ke, from the School of Franchise Management, gave introductions respectively on the willingness of both schools to cooperate with MU through 2+2 program (recognition of both sides credits). While the representatives of MU showed a positive attitude on pushing on courses evaluation and other further tasks.

During visiting time, Professor Philomena Leung of MU was invited to give a lecture titled “What do you study in a leading Business School in Australia”. Students from the school of Franchise Management, the School of Management and Sino-Canada program were attended. Combined with vivid case studies and video materials, professor Leung gave a concrete introduction of the study experience in MU. The lecture gave students a basic idea of the life in Australia.
