The commemoration officially started at 10 o’clock in the morning. The activities to worship Confucius this time followed the ancient rules of the Han Dynasty in terms of clothing, sacrifice and setting. The ritual began with Han Music. The crowd are all dressed in Hanfu and followed to the procedures of meeting the God, playing the elegant music, the first tribute, the second tribute, the third tribute, reading the eulogy and so on to complete this commemoration. After the solemn tribute, all the representatives honored Confucius with three bows. The grand and plain eulogy took the presented staff back to scene of thousands years ago in which with Confucius and his students together experience and seek the calm of life and the quiet beauty of humanity.

As a ceremony of revering sages and traditional culture, in ancient China we call The Ceremony of Confucius as the nation’s grand ceremony. The Ceremony of Confucius is the reverence and memory for Confucius of the Chinese people and the inheritance of the sage’s wisdom and etiquette. The commemoration is not only a baptism of all staff’s mind which exposes them to Chinese profound and rich culture, but also inspires us to learn and inherit the excellent traditional culture.

This is the 2566 birthday of Confucius. In honor of this great thinker and educator in ancient history, School of Law and Administration and Zhuhai academy of Nanshan came together to organize this solemn commemoration before the bronze statue of Confucius in BNUZ’s Liyun Building. Hundreds of people joined this commemoration to express the reverence and memory to Confucius.
