Prof. Margaret MacDonald from Saint Mary’s University visited BNUZ

On November 7th, Prof. Margaret MacDonald, Dean of Arts of Saint Mary’s University visited BNUZ. Prof. Mingyuan Zhang, Dean of School of Chinese and Office of International Exchange & Cooperation welcomed guests and had a meeting in Muduo Building.

   

On behalf of BNUZ, Prof. Mingyuan Zhang expressed warm greetings to Prof. MacDonald and showed his gratitude towards the endeavors of Saint Mary’s University in deepening the cooperation with BNUZ. After a brief introduction of BNUZ and its international cooperation programs, both sides discussed the details of the Teaching Chinese as A Second Language 2 + 2 joint program. Professor MacDonald said Saint Mary’s University valued this program very much and has set up a program committee, hoping to provide students with sufficient assistance of adapting to the new learning context. Both sides reached a consensus and signed the credit transfer agreement.

During the visit, Prof. MacDonald gave a lecture to our students from School of Chinese and had a campus tour. She spoke highly of the beautiful environment, cultural atmosphere and the facilities of BNUZ.

Founded in 1802, Saint Mary’s University is one of Canada’s oldest public universities. The school offers various bachelor, master, doctor degree programs. BNUZ and Saint Mary’s University signed a framework agreement on cooperation in higher education in November 2003 and started a Finance 2+2 dual degree program. The overall number of overseas students is more than 300. In 2013, Sino-Canadian educational joint program is established in 2013..
